Southern Terminus: M-55, east of Prudenville
Northern Terminus: M-18, northeast of Prudenville
Distance: 1.1 miles

M-157 is a shortcut between M-55 and M-18, located just to the east of Prudenville.  At 1.1 miles, M-157 is the fourth-shortest Michigan state route.

Below is the directional guide sign seen in the background of the previous picture, along with the subsequent intersection with M-55.  Note that the destination for eastbound M-55 traffic is I-75: when M-55 hits I-75, it multiplexes with I-75 for 12 miles before arriving in West Branch.
